Confirmed spell list and current patch behavior.
Article details
Published: Updated:
Use spells to reduce searching and walking time, but keep patch behavior in mind. Current Hotfix 1.2 behavior: powers do not recharge while paused.
Confirmed spells
| Spell | Confirmed use | Best safe use today |
|---|---|---|
| Alchemical Vision | Highlights every item belonging to a specific set. | Use it when you know the item family but cannot find the remaining matches in a pile or room. |
| Magnetic Vacuum | Attracts and picks up nearby items matching the one you are holding. | Use it after holding a known item, especially when matching copies are mixed with other objects nearby. |
| Auto-Place Magic | Floats held items directly onto their correct display spots. | Use it when the destination shelf is the slow part of the task. |
Steam also says spells can be upgraded over time. Exact upgrade costs, cooldown lengths, and best upgrade order still need current-version evidence before they belong in a public table.
Current patch behavior
- Powers do not recharge while paused in Hotfix 1.2.
- Do not copy older strategies that wait in pause menus for power recharge.
- If a future guide lists cooldowns, it should include the patch version and test method.
Choosing the right spell for the job
- If you are missing copies of a known item, try Alchemical Vision first.
- If matching items are nearby but scattered, Magnetic Vacuum is the safer pick.
- If you know the item but cannot find or reach the correct display efficiently, Auto-Place Magic is the spell to verify in the current build.
- If the task is cleaning rather than sorting, check the current room checklist and patch notes before assuming a sorting spell solves it.
What this page will not guess
- Exact recharge times.
- Exact upgrade prices.
- A single best upgrade order.
- Hidden spell unlock requirements.
- Whether a community strategy from an older patch still works.
