Start with identity, then appearance. A card's family tells you which group to search; its current color, trim, and shelf examples tell you which specific display accepts it.

Wand imagery or suit nameWandsRank and deck treatment.
Sword imagery or suit nameSwordsRank and deck treatment.
Pentacle imagery or suit namePentaclesRank and deck treatment.

Fast sorting method

  1. Make five temporary groups: Major Arcana, Cups, Wands, Swords, and Pentacles.
  2. Split each group by the visible deck treatment used by the current build.
  3. Complete a short verified sequence on one shelf.
  4. Compare new cards with that shelf before creating another temporary pile.
  5. If the shelf rejects a card, recheck treatment and trim before changing suits.
  6. Use Vision on a known card family, then use Magnetic Vacuum while holding a matching card when copies are nearby.

Minor Arcana order

Within a conventional suit, look for Ace, numbered cards, then Page, Knight, Queen, and King. Use the actual shelf labels and placement feedback as the final authority because Wand & Order can divide otherwise similar cards by its own visual variants.

Patch-sensitive warning

Hotfix 1.1 changed Zone 1 colors and groups. Do not rely on an older guide that says color alone permanently determines a shelf. Confirm the rule against the live shelf examples.

When one card is missing

Search floor edges, cabinet sides, the path between rooms, and underneath visual clutter. Check every nearly complete row for a real empty slot, then use the Missing Items Guide.
