Wand & Order Alchemy Lab Guide
Quick answer
Zone 3 potion and ingredient sorting route.
The Alchemy Lab is the largest zone, with more than 2,200 items listed by Steam. The useful first filter is container type; after that, use the current label, visual family, and existing shelf examples to choose the display.
Floor-by-floor route
- Finish one floor before sending unresolved containers upstairs or downstairs.
- Separate tins, jars, glass bottles, potions, and loose ingredients.
- Build one correct shelf for each active family and use it as the reference.
- Carry short batches so one wrong assumption does not create a large mixed pile.
- Search passages, alcoves, stairs, railings, and the upper gallery during every floor transition.
- Complete cleaning objectives separately from sorting.
Container decision flow
| First clue | What to compare next |
|---|---|
| Tin or case | Label, trim, theme, and the examples already in the display. |
| Jar | Contents, jar shape, name, and shelf family. |
| Glass bottle or potion | Full item name, bottle treatment, color, and destination examples. |
| Loose ingredient | Ingredient family, label, and the nearest confirmed group. |
Complete floor category map
Use the box illustration first, then color, container shape, and size. This is faster and safer than trying to memorize every ingredient spelling.
First floor
| Side | Category | Color | Box design |
|---|---|---|---|
| Moon / left | Cryogenic | Blue and white | Snowflake |
| Moon / center | Illusion | Purple and violet | Eye and moon |
| Moon / right | Ethereal | Purple and blue | Spark |
| Sun / left | Botany | Dark green and bronze | Leaf |
| Sun / center | Beast | Brown and bronze | Jaw and fangs |
| Sun / right | Aquatic | Dark teal and bronze | Drop and waves |
Second floor
| Group | Category | Color/design clue |
|---|---|---|
| Moon | Draconic | Red and bronze, dragon |
| Moon | Anthropomorphic | Dark orange and white, doll head |
| Moon | Enchanted | Blue and white, potion vial |
| Moon | Chronomantic | Yellow and orange, hourglass |
| Sun | Tempests | Blue and bronze, storm cloud/lightning |
| Sun | Celestial | Blue and yellow, star and rings |
| Sun | Avian & Reptilian | Red and gray, feather |
| Sun | Insectoid | Green and light green, beetle |
| Sun | Pyromantic | Orange and red, flame |
| Sun | Venoms | Dark green and yellow, skull and bones |
| Sun | Geodes | Dark blue and bronze, crystal |
| Sun | Metallic Ores | Brown and red, ingot |
Third floor
| Category | Color | Box design |
|---|---|---|
| Abyssal | Black and red | Horned skull |
| Divine | Milky white and orange | Wings and halo |
Within each category, finish the small/large and round/square ingredient groups before moving to the potion rows. A correct theme with the wrong container shape is the most common reason a plausible shelf rejects an item.
Missing-item sweep
Because this zone spans multiple levels, do not repeatedly search the central floor. Check the upper gallery, passage-side furniture, stair landings, railings, alcoves, and shelf tops in a fixed loop. If the room looks empty, confirm that the remaining requirement is not watering, sweeping, frames, cobwebs, or another cleaning task.
